About This Tour
Juta is one of those places that feels like the end of the world — a remote mountain village tucked into a valley near Kazbegi, surrounded by towering peaks and vast alpine meadows. Very few tourists make it here, and that's exactly what makes it special. This is Georgia at its most wild and untouched, a landscape that belongs in a documentary about Earth's last great frontiers.
The drive to Juta takes us through the beautiful Sno Valley, a hidden gem that most visitors to the Kazbegi region miss entirely. As the paved road ends and the dirt track begins, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic — jagged peaks, rushing streams, and meadows carpeted with wildflowers in summer. The village of Juta itself is a handful of houses at 2,200 meters, home to just a few dozen families who live off the land.
From Juta, we'll trek toward Chaukhi Pass, where the landscape transforms into something truly otherworldly. The Chaukhi rock formations — massive, jagged peaks rising like a natural cathedral — are one of Georgia's most spectacular sights. The trek crosses alpine meadows, follows mountain streams, and rewards you with views that make every step worthwhile. This is one of the most scenic treks in the entire Caucasus, and an adventure you'll remember forever.
